A River Reconnected: Kwoneesum dam removal with Columbia Land Trust

  • Columbia Land Trust Ninebark Community Room Washougal, WA (map)

In the summer of 2024, Columbia Land Trust and the Cowlitz Indian Tribe removed the Kwoneesum dam, which had blocked Wildboy Creek for over 60 years, preventing fish passage and harming downstream water quality. Wildboy Creek is an important tributary of the Washougal River, and now that it flows freely once again, steelhead are already returning to this important habitat.

On Saturday, February 7th at 11:00am in the Ninebark Community Room, staff from Columbia Land Trust will host a presentation and Q&A sharing about this incredible feat of restoration and collaboration right in Ninebark's backyard.
