Juneteenth Freedom Celebration @ Esther Short Park

Join Odyssey World International Education Services and the City of Vancouver at the Juneteenth Freedom Celebration.

This free event is open to all ages and features live music from Wamba and Jujuba, along with local vendors, an interactive history display and family activities.

Juneteenth is an American holiday that celebrates the 1865 liberation of the last enslaved African Americans by Union soldiers in Texas, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863. While it was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth has been celebrated by Black Americans for over a century.
