Vancouver Audubon First-of-Month Bird Walk: Marine Park and Tidewater Marina

  • Water Resources Education Center - west parking lot (4600 SE Columbia Way) (map)

It's fall! Join Vancouver Audubon to check the Columbia river for scoters and other unusual water birds!

Meet trip lead Cindy McCormack at the parking lot on the west side of Water Resources Education Center (4600 SE Columbia Way). We will plan on walking the trail to the “breakwater” at Tidewater Cove marina to view the river. On the way back, we plan on checking out the gravel bar near the Marine Park boat launch.

Bird Walks are meant to be a casual, local morning of birding. They are a great time to enjoy birds with others and find new areas to visit. You can work on bird identification by sight and sound. It’s also an opportunity to practice your eBird app with help when needed. These walks are easy to join or leave at any time during the morning. You don’t have to commit to the entire walk if you have limited time. All are welcome!

  • Most of the trail is paved (except where we might take a short detour off to the beach at or near the boat launch).

  • Dress for the weather! Keep in mind that we are getting into potentially windy conditions along the river!
