Join the Master Gardeners as they help you plan ahead for amazing dahlias next year!

A successful dahlia season begins in early spring, when careful tuber planting sets the stage for a vibrant summer bloom.

In this presentation, attendees will learn how to select healthy tubers, identify eyes and growth points, and prepare soil that provides the warmth, drainage, and nutrition dahlias demand. We’ll explore proper planting depth, spacing for strong airflow, and techniques to avoid common pitfalls such as rot or slow sprouting. The session also highlights early staking, and watering strategies.
