With sweeping views of Vancouver Lake, dense stands of cottonwood trees, and open grassy fields, this site provides a wonderful opportunity to view birds as they wind down from nesting season and gear up for fall migration.
From beginner to expert, all are welcome to join us on Friday, August 14th.
This event is free, but a Discover Pass is required to park. Don't have a discover pass? You can check one out from Fort Vancouver Regional Library (@fvrlibraries)!
Expect a distance of about 1.75 miles on gravel, dirt, and maybe a little muddy sand passing alongside tall grass and brambles. The trail can be a little uneven, but there is no elevation gain here whatsoever.
This site has limited or undeveloped restroom access with a vault toilet and portable restroom about 100 yards away from our meeting location.
Note: This event is not Shillapoo Lake. This is in the south unit of Shillapoo Wildlife Area accessed via LaFrambois Rd near Fruit Valley Park)
