Water Resources Education Center

Beaks, feet, and feathers, oh my 🐦️ Learn all about our feathered friends at Reading in the Wild on July 1 at 10 a.m.
We’ll read stories about the wonders of birds, followed by family-friendly nature activities and bird spotting in our garden.

Join educators from the Water Center for a free outdoor reading series for families with kids ages three to six. Reading in the Wild connects fun stories with nature activities. We read, and your little ones explore! Sit under a tree, listen to a story, then explore our native plant garden to play with plants, rocks, water, soil, and more. View weekly themes, what to bring, and additional information.

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Storytime begins at 10 a.m. Self-paced, family-friendly nature activities follow. The Water Center exhibit hall will be open for exploration.
