Can you imagine flying into the aftermath of the May 18, 1980, eruption of Mount St. Helens?
This is your chance to hear Michael Cairns' firsthand account: As a Washington Army National Guard helicopter pilot, he flew numerous search, rescue, and recovery missions in the days following the eruption.
Michael will be sharing his experience of those high-stakes operations in a presentation based on his book, Under the Ash, featuring powerful (and previously unseen) images of the devastation he witnessed through his 35mm camera.
Grab a craft brew, hear incredible stories of bravery and survival, and connect with fellow volcano enthusiasts!
