Program Description: Oregon's rivers connect its diverse landscapes and provide a home for some of the most iconic wildlife in the Pacific Northwest. Take a trip east towards the dry, arid Oregon high desert with us to explore the Deschutes River! Grab a paddle and join our expert guides as we navigate class II-III rapids and enjoy the scenery and geology. With the perfect combination of calm floats and excitement, this paddle is great for first-time rafters and seasoned paddlers alike!

Transportation: Transportation is $10/person. If you would like to use AWL's transportation and meet us a centralized pick-up location (Ross Dress for Less within Gateway Shopping Center), please select a "Transportation Included" ticket when registering.

Itinerary:
8:00 AM - Meet at pick-up location (Gateway Shopping Center)

11:00 AM - Arrive at Harpham Flat boat launch, gear up

11:45 AM - Launch rafts - time to paddle!

4:00 PM - Return to shore/Closing circle

4:45 PM - Depart for Portland

7:45 PM - Drop off at Gateway Shopping Center, goodbyes

Inclusions:

  • Certified raft guides

  • Trip planning & logistics

  • All equipment (rafts, paddles, PFDs, dry bags, first aid, safety gear)

  • Location permits

  • Adaptive equipment/outdoor gear (available with 7 days prior notice)

  • Transportation (optional- must notify at time of booking)

Exclusions:

  • Lunch/snacks/beverages - please bring a lunch and plenty of snacks! We do not plan to arrive back in the Portland area until late, so extra snacks or a sack-style dinner are recommended.

  • Personal items listed on the packing list

  3. Look for a confirmation email ensuring that your registration is complete!

Participants will receive a registration email after they've completed the registration process. Liability Waivers and Gear Request Forms will be linked in the confirmation email. Participants MUST sign the electronic waiver and complete a gear request at least 7 days prior to the trip. If the participant signs the waiver or completes a gear request after this time frame, then we may not be able to accommodate any specific needs on the trip. If the participant fails the sign the waiver, they will not be permitted to join the trip.
