Help clean up on what is known as the “Dirtiest Beach Day of the Year!"
In partnership with @wacoastsavers, WA State Parks will host three beach cleanup volunteer events a year, including one on July 5. This year’s cleanup will take place at five state parks, including Cape Disappointment, Grayland Beach, Ocean City, Pacific Beach and Twin Harbors. Pre-registration is not necessary – just show up and help.
Volunteers will check in at one of the following locations:
➡️ Cape Disappointment check-in:
Bolstad OBA, Bolstad W, Long Beach, WA 98631
➡️ Grayland Beach/Twin Harbors check-in:
Bonge Ave OBA, W Bonge Ave, Grayland, WA 98595
➡️ Ocean City/Pacific Beach check-in:
Chance a la Mer OBA, W Chance a la Mer NW, Ocean Shores, WA 98569
Ocean City OBA, 37 Second Ave, Ocean City, WA 98569
Volunteers should dress for variable weather conditions, wear sturdy footwear and pack a lunch with plenty of water. Upon check-in, participants will receive supplies to help them pick up debris; however, volunteers are encouraged to bring reusable gloves. The check-in station also serves as the dumpster location for marine debris after collection.
AND, if any of these events are too far to road trip, visit YOUR local beach, park, etc. and help keep fireworks trash out of our storm drains and waterways! Contact your local jurisdiction for more information and ideas on how you can help.
